My most successful drawing was my juxtaposition of a ladies hair and slime. At first starting this project i changed my idea soo many times but finally came to this idea. My original idea was the have slime coming down and draw fragments of the face but then after getting advice i just drew a girl and made her hair only slime. this is my most successful piece because its the best looking thing i've made this entire semester and i actually enjoyed this the most. most of my art i just made stuff to get a grade but for once i actually made something i would keep. i've been working on blending colors smoothly together and i feel like in this drawing you i was able to blend different greens to give the slime a realistic look and the high lights make them look 3D. i also painted the back ground black to make the hair and facial features pop. By making the black areas in the face darker it helped make sure the black background didn't take away from the face. i used three different mediums , pencil in the face, prismacolor for the hair, lips and eyes and paint for the background.
This is my least successful picture because it didn't come out how I expected. With the canvas it made painting harder because the paint didn't spread as easily as it would on a piece of paper so I had to kept having to make a circle get more paint go over the circle get more paint go over the circle then finally one curl was done and that was the whole process & wavy lines . After finishing the hair I tried to focus on the skin color at first it came out correctly until I tried making shades that showed different volumes like make up and dark areas. I kept messing up and painting over it so much the face just didn't look right so I decided to just make a colorful person and purple was the color givin to me by another student. My person started looking like a witch & I just felt like she didn't look how I wanted so that's why I don't like it . To make this better I could've just made it on a normal paper to make the painting easier . I also should've practiced blending colors together so I don't have problems with getting the right shades .
