My metaphor is " the body is a natural work of art" i chose this because Mr.sands told me i couldn't just draw naked people and if i did that they had to look like art so i painted a colorful body. my medium was paint and i used different shades of purple. blue, pink and black
For my blind portrait i used the persons likes and personality to think of an idea. She said she liked kids and that she was nice but moody so i thought of stitch. Stitch is a kids character who is adorable and can be loving but he can switch up and turn into a mad man and tear the place up. For my mediums i used prisma color for the coloring of stitch and the grass, rocks, and flower. i wanted to practice with blending colors to make a colored picture that wasn't flat and plain. I made areas to show light and shadows i felt like the purple in the ear was the hardest for some reason because it didn't want to blend how i wanted and i messed up. overall i think this is the best blending ive done . i just keep improving and improving each class i take
I used values for my technique. In case you didn't know this picture is of Cardi B the stripper hoe who's a upcoming rapper. i wanted to practice on realism because i wasn't very good at drawing people or to be more precise i wasn't good at making people look like real people. i also practiced using dark values because in the past i would be "afraid' to go to dark but now that i've learned more i've found out that dark areas help make pictures better and more realistic. Proportion was very important when it came to drawing this because i had to make sure the face was lined up and each feature was the right length away .My end result didn't turn out how i wanted because the face was a little to long and the cheek was to low and i felt like my shading was kinda rough and sloppy. But i think this is a somewhat successful picture its the closest i've gotten to drawing the exact image of a person and i'm proud. .
