Question 4 : My most successful piece was my Arcylic wash of a wolf. I was told to choose a picture that focused on the eye and crop it to make it my origanal photo for my piece. After choosing my photo I had to draw a pencil sketch with full value to show my light & dark areas to aid when once I started painting . I think this is my favorite piece because I absolutely loves wolfs and to complete a project of one and have it turn out as good as it did made me kinda fall in love with it. This painting shows that I can learn and grow in mediums I'm not comfortable with working with at all. I was assigned to work with paint and at first I expected to fail but towards the end I started getting very into the project and tried hard to make it look exact. I think this piece is better than the rest of my art because it's a beautiful wolf made from paint & I never thought I could create a realistic piece out of paint. It actually looks like my reference picture & the colors were beautiful. The colors washes and blending make this piece good. Along with the allusion texture I made with layering colors over color and having the fur go in different directions to show movement.
Question 3: My least successful art piece was my nature turning mechanical of a lion. I think this is my worse project because I didn't finish it & I lost interest quick Bc choosing how to change my lion didn't come out how I wanted and once the nose and chin part weren't how I wanted I gave up . My eye is the best thing in the picture if I could've kept it as a normal lion it would've looked great but changing its features threw me completely off. The medium was prisma colors and blending them wasn't easy at all for me in this. The more stressed I got the more I didn't what to work and complete this. If I could've changed anything I would've picked a better idea for the chin and I would've kept the nose as a Normal lion nose . I would've took time to do the back ground instead of stressing on the face the whole time and stopping completely because I was upset. I know I need to work on using different mediums and not giving up on things that are hard if I want to become a better artist.
Question 2: In my opinion my artistic strengths are realism & using pencil as my medium. Working with pencil has been the easiest thing for me in art and my main focus through out most of my life . I've loved realism since I was in elementary I was the one kid that wanted everything to look exact . I've worked on cartoons for a while because I was tired of always going in depth with all my drawings. With cartoons my strength with proportions got a lot better so my drawing weren't so uneven and pieces weren't bigger than the other if they weren't suppose to be. My weakest artistic skill is blending colors & using paint. With blending colors I have to work on having the colors look like they belong together and not be able to see just 2 different colors beside eachother. Later on in the future to improve all of my art I think I should make bigger goals for myself when it comes to my work. I should use paint & oils and prisma for more of my projects to help me grow and learn how to better myself .
Question 1 : 2 of my pieces from this semester that show my growth as a artist are my stitch & cardi b who is a upcoming rapper who was once a stripper. Stitch is one of my favorites because he was the first prisma color drawing I did on my own that I choose to do and I love the colors I choose to put him together how I wanted him. My proportions for his body and head were almost close to exact in my opinion. This picture shows that as a artist I can accomplish things I never thought I could really do if I really try and put love into it. Working on this has persauded me to always put 100% into every project I do that envolves color because if I could create this then I can create anything. My cardi drawing is one of my favorites because this was the first time I drew a person and it looked like them I had drew myself before but it didn't look like me exactly in my opinion but this drawing was almost just like the person . I struggled mostly on my proportioning and my shading should've been cleaner and better and area but I'm still proud I accomplished this for my first time ever. This drawing shows that as and artist I've grown a lot in realism and now I'm able to move on the drawing people and not just animals and nature. I learned that with proportioning adding shapes to help aid you are a major key in helping you succeed. In my future project I will try drawing another picture of a person and hopefully it comes out even better than my portrait and this picture . I'm going to practice on shading better and working on values .
